Business intelligence for our members
The overarching mission of the Business Intelligence group of the Global Prepaid Exchange is to supply information that helps Exchange members achieve success. While every member has different internal measures of this success, the products of the Business Intelligence group are designed to assist members evaluate products, consumers and markets thereby increasing business decision making speed, efficiency and effectiveness. Several different products support this. These include IQ Reports, Best Practices Research, Country Databases, a Research Library, Research Coordinators, and Customized and Syndicated Research.
IQ Reports are published monthly and represent a “deep-dive” into a specific topic of interest to the prepaid industry. The reports might present original consumer or business data on a given topic or market or synthesize secondary research and expert opinions. The IQ reports are authored by Global Prepaid Exchange team members or industry experts. Some recent issues, for example, included reports on Mobile Payments, Fraud, and Prepaid in Poland. Government-loaded Prepaid, our latest consumer gift card research and Prepaid for Teens are examples of forthcoming coverage.
Best Practices Research highlights the performance of the players in markets for studied products as well as the drivers of growth in these markets. The overviews and key findings of this research are broadly and publicly published. More detailed category-level analysis and, where applicable, individual firm-level data, is made available to Exchange members.
Currently in development, our Country Database is a repository for information about the prepaid industry consumer and industry in various countries. The information includes both macro level economic data and data about specific firms and key industry individuals. This database is useful for members as they evaluate expansion into new markets. Information on the first countries is to be available during Q1 2010.
The Country Database is a sub-segment of our larger Research Library which includes both proprietary and publically available documents dealing with the Prepaid Industry. The documents contained in the library are accessed by members through two means. First a keyword driven search engine facility is available. Second, our Research Coordinators are able to use their experience in the library to create decks that provide summaries of the information available.
Finally, the Global Prepaid Exchange can be commissioned for Customized Research Projects. Recent projects have included major studies of gift cards Australia, payment choices in Canada, the UK and the US, and other proprietary research. Firms utilize this service because our experience provides an unmatched contextual knowledge in Prepaid. Members also receive substantially lower rates than available in the market.
